As I type this, we am getting ready to bottle all eight (!) of our 2007 red releases! It’s quite exciting, as we feel that the 2007 vintage better showcased what tercero wines is all about! Not that we are not happy with our 06 red releases . .
. but the 07’s take the wines to a new level!
The new releases will include the following (all 2007’s)
Watch Hill Grenache
Camp 4 Grenache
Camp 4 Mourvedre
The Climb (50% Petite Sirah / 50% Syrah)
Cuvee Christie (GSM Blend)
The labels were sent off and approved by the TTB in record time (well, in 3 days, which is mighty fast if you ask me!). The printer is in possession of all the files, dutifully and beautifully created by Jimmy Giokaris, designer extraordinaire (and my nephew)! We can’t wait to share these with you!
The next step is to take the wines out of barrel, where they have resided patientily for the past 22 months or so, and put them into tank (we call this racking). Final blends will then be created, the wines will be cross-flow filtered into other tanks, and then we’re off to the bottling line!
We will hopefully release these wines to our wine club members by the end of September / early October, with the caveat that you may want to sit on them for a few months (-: ‘General’ release will follow shortly . . .
I’ll continue to keep you posted . . . and please stay in touch with us as well!
